Calling Things
I enjoyed taking Bert, Nubia, and Jackie with me in December when I went to visit the women in Gambaga. The director of this place of refuge for those accused of witchcraft calls this "The Go Home" project. Of all the names for this place, that is my favorite. The people overseeing this camp work hard to get these women back home. It works out for some women, but not all. What a faith-filled name, though! They do not want to label these women as witches or as outcasts, but as those who are destined to go home.
"As it is written: "I have made you a father of many nations." He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed-the God who gives life to the dead and calls things that are not as though they were." Romans 4:17
I know I need to call more things that are not as though they were. I want to live a faith-filled life.

Hello and Goodbye
We are having to say, "Goodbye" to some dear friends in Accra who are retiring soon, Jimmy & Sylvia Huey. They have helped us here at BMC for so long now. They have spent many years of service in other countries as well, such as Nigeria. We are happy to say they are Texans and we look forward to seeing them back in our home state over time. The IMB does not currently have a long-term replacement for them. That is a definite prayer request. We do have someone here through most of the summer for them, Zach and Hannah Welch. Thanks for praying about this. What they do for us down there is just invaluable.
We are also so happy to welcome a new family here to BMC. Michael and Julie Coram and their children, Noah and Taylor. They are new volunteers in charge of the guest house. Colt is really enjoying playing with Noah and we are all enjoying the entire family! They are a welcome addition to our team.
